Do A Little Good

Atlanta Pet Rescue and Adoption, Inc. is hosting a fundraiser on FirstGiving.com to raise money for the animals who are living in the shelter.
It is expensive to care for so many animals. They want to provide low cost spay/neuters because they are looking out for what is best for the pet. Their goal is to raise $1,000 and they have currently raised $632. Please do a little good and donate whatever money you can here to this cause. They would greatly appreciate it.

Collar of the Week: Week of October 3rd, 2011

This week we're featuring a martingale collar. A martingale collar is made with a large and small loop. The larger loop is placed around the dog’s neck and then adjusted to fit. The leash is attached to the D-ring on the smaller loop. When the dog tries to pull, the tension will pull the small loop taunt, making the larger loop smaller and tighten around the neck, which helps prevent escaping and backing out of their collar. A martingale also provides more control over the dog without the choking effect of the standard slip collar.

Martingale collars will fit to the exact size of the dog’s neck when the collar is pulled. A properly fitted martingale will fit snuggly around the dog’s neck, just behind the ears, until the pressure is released. It will be comfortably loose when not in use. When the control loop on the collar is pulled, the two slides should pull together but they should never touch. It is very important to properly fit your dog’s martingale style collar.

We like the Furberry print for the sophisticated pup. Order this collar here.
